Description
My name is Mel and I am an experienced Biodynamic Craniosacral and Remedial Therapist who specialises in nervous system healing and regulation, especially to support anxious children.
Over the 18 years I have worked with the body, I regularly see that this work helps build their capacity to handle harder things in life without as many meltdowns. It is a body-orientated approach with managing school stress, trauma and big changes. When you work with the body physiology, it can shift a body stressed in fight / flight or freeze into happy, calm and regulated. This is a much nicer place to be.
How does it work?
I use a sensitive delicate touch over clothing and co-regulate my nervous system with theirs. The nervous system will start to feel safe and settle allowing the discharge of stress hormones and energy. The body "talks" to me somatically about what's going on and it able to resolve it under my hands, this is a great modality for a child who doesn't yet have the language for traditional talk therapy.
Craniosacral therapy is amazing for addressing birth trauma, physical trauma, anxiety and stress. I have seen an improvement with appetite, sleep and their happiness within the first session.
