Research participation opportunities for WA families

Help shape the future of child development and wellbeing

Every year, researchers across Western Australia and Australia invite families to take part in studies that help us better understand children’s development, learning, mental health and neurodiversity. These projects often need the voices and experiences of real children, parents and caregivers — and many families tell us they value the chance to contribute to research that may improve support for future generations.

On this page you will find current research studies that are seeking participants. Most are run by universities or research organisations and focus on areas like child development, neurodevelopmental conditions, family wellbeing, learning differences and healthcare experiences.

Each listing includes who the study is for, what participation involves, time commitment, any reimbursements, and how to register your interest.
Participation is always voluntary, and you can decide what feels right for your child and family.

If a study looks like a good fit, you can express your interest directly with the research team.

By getting involved — in whatever way works for you — you are helping create a better future for children and families in Western Australia.
