Occupational Therapistsmore than just handwriting

Paediatric occupational therapists help children to do all the things they want or need to do.  These activities or tasks are called “occupations”.

Children’s occupations can include what they want to do during the day, like play, climb and eat.  As well as occupations they need to do, such as sleep, brush their teeth, drink water, go to the toilet or write their name.

Paediatric occupational therapists can also have special interests in areas like emotional regulation, mental health, sensory processing or more.
