If you’re reading this late at night, exhausted, burnt out, or just sick of being judged by a system that insists your child needs to be "fixed" - we know how heavy that is. You don't have to justify your parenting or defend your child here.

Waves WA started because our founder, Lydia, was a neurodivergent mum trying to find support for her autistic son. She didn't want stricter discipline, rigid rules, or people demanding he mask who he was. She just needed practitioners who would stop, listen, and actually try to understand him.

Today, that’s still who we are. The majority of our team - right up to our Practice Manager - have lived experience as neurodivergent adults, parents, or carers. We aren't experts sitting in an office handing down clinical orders or giving you another impossible to-do list or resources that don't fit. We stand right where you stand. We know the heavy weight of school refusal, PDA, anxiety, family burnout, and trying to navigate complex systems while barely keeping your head above water.

We are a registered NDIS provider delivering mobile, neurodiversity-affirming Positive Behaviour Support across Western Australia - wherever you need us, whether that’s in-home, at school, or out in the community across metro, regional, or remote WA.

Our approach is simple:

We put connection and trust way before we ever look at a "behaviour trigger." We don't do correction or compliance. We look at what a child is trying to tell us, protect their identity, and focus on their strengths. We work alongside you to figure out practical things that make daily life easier, help lower the collective stress in your home, and give you back some breathing space.
