We see young people from a range of ages: young children not yet at school, primary school-aged and high school-aged/adolescent. We may accept new referrals for young people aged up until 16 years of age.
We routinely see young people in conjunction with their parents and family. Sometimes, working with the family as a whole is the focus of the work we’ll do (family therapy). We also offer a range of services for parents.
The Psychotherapies our clinicians offer vary: including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Adolescent Interpersonal Therapy, Attachment-based and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. We see individuals, parent-child pairs (dyads), families or small groups. Our clinicians will advise which of the therapies is recommended after the assessment phase is complete, and if it’s not something we offer within our clinic, we have a great network of other clinicians we work closely with.
All of the clinicians at the Swiss Family Clinic set their own fees. At the time of booking an appointment, we can advise you of the individual clinicians fees, as well as Medicare rebates available. Our clinicians come from a variety of backgrounds – including Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Occupational Therapy and Social Work – which are all eligible for different Medicare rebates in conjunction with specific GP referrals.
In a limited capacity, we also offer training sessions for professionals, supervision for individuals and small groups, and other events that you can find in the “News” link on our homepage or by contacting us directly.
