Strength Heroes January School Holiday workshop

Description

☀️ Empowering January Holiday Workshops: Creativity & Resilience for All Abilities

Give your child a summer break filled with growth, art, and confidence at The Maker Space at Floreat Forum Shopping Centre.

At Strength Heroes, we provide more than just craft—we provide "tools for life." With over a decade of experience in child development, our workshops are designed by experts to be inclusive, sensory-friendly, and empowering for children of all abilities.

Whether your child is ready for an independent "drop-off" challenge or needs the comfort of having you nearby, we have a session designed to help them thrive and build the emotional resilience needed for the school year ahead.

⭐ Highly Rated by the Perth Community

We are proud of our 5-star Google rating and our reputation for creating a safe, nurturing environment for every child.

"Really satisfied with the workshops here. My child felt comfortable straight away (often a challenge for her with new situations) - she feels safe with Fiona. She comes home feeling proud of what she has created and inspired to do more craft!" — Penny, Parent

🌟 Why Families Choose Strength Heroes:

  • The "Mistake Maker" Camp: Our signature program helps children embrace challenges, learn problem-solving, and build a "growth mindset" through hands-on art.
  • Emotional Regulation: Every session incorporates simple, effective strategies to help kids manage "big feelings" and build self-regulation skills.
  • Inclusive & Expert-Led: We pride ourselves on creating a space where children of all abilities can participate and shine. Our team is highly experienced in supporting diverse learning and developmental profiles.

🕒 Flexible Options to Suit Your Child’s Needs

We understand that every child’s support needs are different. We offer three ways to participate so you can choose the level of independence that works best:

1. Choose Your Own Art Adventure (75 Mins) – Stay & Play or Drop-off

Perfect for children who prefer a shorter burst of creativity or those who feel more confident with a parent nearby. Six times to choose from.

2. Half-Day Discovery (3 Hours) – Drop-off Session

Our popular 3-hour workshops allow kids to build independence in a supportive environment while parents enjoy a well-deserved break.

3. Full-Day Experience - Drop off session

Combine a morning and afternoon workshop for a full day of care. We provide free lunch-break supervision, making it a seamless and supportive experience for your child.

Spaces are strictly limited to ensure small group sizes and personalised support for every child. Visit our website to view the full January timetable.

Bio

The heart of Strength Heroes is our founder and Resilience Educator, Fiona Perrella. With over 20 years of experience in education and human resources, Fiona founded the organization after seeing the impact of mental health challenges within her own family. Her mission is to build capacity for better mental health outcomes, reaching over 2,500 children in 2024 alone. Her dedication to the field led to her being named a finalist in the WA Mental Health Awards (Mental Health Educator category).

Since 2012, Strength Heroes has been a leader in using art and play to develop resilience in Western Australia. We work with children, teens, and adults across schools, local councils, and community organisations—delivering everything from school incursions and professional development to our popular public workshops. Our unique approach has been featured in local media and continues to grow in its impact on children’s wellbeing.

Our home base is The Maker Space, a creative hub established in partnership with Floreat Forum. We are incredibly proud that this space has been recognised as a finalist in both the Shopping Centre Council of Australia Awards (Community Category) and the 2025 WA Property Council Awards.

Our workshops are built around a philosophy we call "Thinkering"—using hands-on art and play to model real-life problem-solving. Through these experiences, we:

Build Emotional Intelligence: Teaching children the essential skills to manage big feelings.

Foster a Growth Mindset: Giving kids the confidence to embrace mistakes and engage with learning challenges.

Develop Core Strengths:Strengthening curiosity, fine motor skills, and creative thinking.

Encourage Open Dialogue:Providing families with a shared framework to talk about feelings and mental health.

By blending creativity with evidence-based resilience strategies, Strength Heroes ensures that every child leaves not just with a masterpiece, but with the "tools for life" they need to thrive.
