Fiona Perrella, Founder of Strength Heroes
Fiona Perrella, a resilience educator based in Perth, is the founder of Strength Heroes, an organisation dedicated to fostering resilience skills in children through art and play. With over 20 years of experience in education, Fiona shifted her focus to children's mental well-being after a family member's mental health challenges.
Since founding Strength Heroes in 2012, Fiona has reached thousands of children. In 2024 alone, she provided workshops to over 2,500 kids through school incursions, holiday programs, and partnerships with not-for-profits and local councils. Her programs focus on building capacity for better mental health outcomes, offering families and communities a framework for open dialogue about feelings. This approach has consistently received positive feedback from teachers, parents, and students.
Strength Heroes works with families, schools, childcare providers, and other organisations, making a significant impact on children's well-being in Western Australia. Fiona's dedication has been recognised through accolades such as being a finalist in the Commissioner for Children and Young People Mental Educator category of the WA Mental Health Awards in 2022. In 2024, Strength Heroes partnered with Floreat Forum to create The Maker Space, a hub for kids to create and connect, which was a finalist in the WA Property Council Awards in 2025. Most recently, her workshop Fringe Beast Fun was awarded Children’s Event, WA Winner.
