Ø Psychological & Educational Consultancy Services (PECS) was established by Dr Shane Langsford in Subiaco in 1999 and has grown from being a single practitioner practice to now comprising seven staff who, under Dr Langsford’s continued guidance, conduct child and adult assessments for ADHD, Specific Learning Disorder (SLD: aka Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Autism (ASD), and Intellectual Developmental Disorder (IDD).

Ø  Dr Langsford has a PhD in Educational Psychology, a Bachelor of Education with First-Class Honours (majoring in School Psychology), and a Bachelor of Psychology.

Ø  Dr Langsford is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) and the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Ø  Dr Langsford is a Full Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), Australian Association of Psychologists (AAPi), Australian ADHD Professionals Association (AADPA), ADHD WA (NFP organisation), School Psychologist’s Association of WA (SPAWA), and the WA Autism Diagnosticians’ Forum (WAADF).

Ø  Dr Langsford is also an APS College of Educational & Developmental Psychologists Academic Member. To be awarded Full Academic Member status, an individual has to have completed a PhD in psychology, have at least two years’ experience as a researcher or educator in psychology in the College specific area of practice, and have published a notable body of relevant research in the College-specific area of practice.

Ø  Dr Langsford has been on the Board of ADHD WA since 2023.

Ø  Dr Langsford has been a Member of the AFL Players’ Association Network of Practitioners since 2020. This Network is coordinated by the AFLPA Mental Health & Wellbeing Team and involves the provision of psychological services to past and present AFL players and their families.

Ø  Dr Langsford and many of the PECS staff are NDIS Registered Practitioners, allowing clients to use their NDIS funds for services if applicable.

Ø  Dr Langsford has conducted 10000+ assessments over the past 25 years. Dr Langsford, or a Psychologist trained by him, is involved with every assessment and/or report at PECS, thus ensuring that every client attending PECS is guaranteed of benefiting from the involvement of a highly qualified and experienced Registered Psychologist.

Ø  PECS ensures the assessment is conducted within 21-28 working days of the patient’s/client’s initial contact, and the report is completed within 7-10 working days from the assessment.

Ø  The most common assessments conducted at PECS are for ADHD, Autism (ASD), Specific Learning Disorders (aka Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Intellectual Developmental Disorder, and Special Examination Arrangements/Educational Adjustment.

Ø  Assessments at PECS are provided at set fees to ensure no surprises for the client/patient, and attract Private Health and Medicare rebates, making them even cheaper for the referred clients/patients.

Ø  Due to increasing wait-times to see a Medical Specialist; many Paediatricians and Psychiatrists are now requesting that an assessment is completed by PECS prior to the patient seeing the Specialist for the first time, so they have a wealth of information at hand at their first appointment.
