Updated 25 June 2024
As all of our programs follow the same if not similar structure of a 3 step or 3 appointment approach the current wait times are as follows.
1st appointment (initial appointment)
- ADHD and Mental Health clients can take place within 1 to 2 weeks of receiving a client enquiry or referral.
- ASD and Specific Learning Disorders can take place 3 to 4 weeks after receiving a client enquiry or referral.
2nd appointment (Psychiatry or Paediatrician appt)
- Will take place 5 to 6 months after the initial appointment. This will take place via telehealth, families are encouraged to attend the clinic and use our designated telehealth room.
3rd appointment (Psychoeducation)
- The psychoeducation session can take place anytime after receiving your specialist letter/diagnosis sign off (usually 2 weeks after seeing the specialist).
As we take a multidisciplinary approach clients will see the specialist with the earliest availability and the one that the team believes would best assist them.
Our specialist team now consists of Dr. Joanne Edwards (General Paediatrician with Masters in Psychiatry ages 0-18), Dr. Trusha Brys (General Paediatrician ages 0-16), and Dr. Lara Howard (Consultant Psychiatrist ages 0-100).

July 23, 2024 at 11:08 amJust had our second session with the Healan Clinic which was with Dr Lara Howard via Telehealth. A few technical difficulties made the session run 15 mins late but the session was so so good! She was such a good communicator and saw my daughter as a whole person, taking into account the vitamins she can take to improve her wellbeing, as well as medication. She knew how to speak to my teenage daughter and we both left impressed with her attitude and holistic approach.
We have been seeing a Perth based well known paed but he was overworked, wasted our time with his stories, and often didn’t listen to us. Plus, we wanted to see someone who could see my teenage daughter through to her adult years.
The initial appointment at Healan was great, my daughter really liked the psychologist but unfortunately no medicare rebate avail so won’t continue with him. There were a few issues with the clinic such as: arriving to an empty building when we had an appointment booked on a Saturday, with no response to phone calls or emails in the following week, but hopefully they’ll sort out their communication processes and no one else will have these problems.
