About
The IMPACT program is designed for parents and caregivers looking for help to manage their child's challenging behaviours. The program is for children and adolescents, aged between 3 and 16 years 11 months.
Consisting of:
An evidenced-based online parenting program supported by fortnightly check-in sessions with a clinician.
All families will complete research measures about their child and family before and after the program, and again after three months.
Families will also complete additional weekly measures before and during sessions (known as Measurement Based Care or MBC). Clinicians will review the results of these MBC questionnaires with parents during the check-in sessions.
Parents and caregivers taking part in this program will participate in a 6-module online parenting program that provides parents with strategies to manage behavioural, emotional, and developmental problems and foster positive parent-child interactions. Parents will also be provided with strategies to enhance parent wellbeing and parental teamwork.
Parents and caregivers will also have the option to attend five 30-minute sessions with a clinician throughout the program. These optional sessions are designed to give parents and caregivers an opportunity to ask questions about the online program content and to address any difficulties with regard to implementing the strategies or completing the program.
The information gained from this study will inform the implementation of subsequent programs in the area of child and youth mental health.
