About
We are excited to announce that Paeds Plus is expanding to better support the mental health needs of our patients. We are pleased to introduce Dr. Rachel Hudson, our new Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Dr. Rachel will be joining our clinic to provide expert assessment and management for children and adolescents up to 16 years old working collaboratively with their families.
Referral Criteria:
• Age Group: Young people up to 16 years old, alongside their parents or family. Dr Rachel has a special interest in adolescents.
• Consent: Referrals must indicate that the legal guardian(s) of the child consent to the referral, except for mature minors. Consent from the legal guardian(s) is also required for medication prescriptions if the patient is not a mature minor.
Areas of Focus:
• Anxiety disorders
• Mood disorders, including Depressive Disorders
• Trauma-related issues
• School-related or peer relationship difficulties, including school avoidance
Please Note: At this time, Dr Rachel is unable to accept referrals for:
• ADHD/ ASD
• Significant risk to self or others (self-harm or suicidal ideation)
• Eating Disorders
• Psychosis or aggressive behaviour
• Primary drug and alcohol issues
• Patients requiring hospital admission
• Medicolegal assessments or reports (including family court or forensic assessments)
