Why can’t I find a bio on dr Michael Slattery?
My daughter has an appointment for her 8 year old son but I can’t find any information on him or his specialties. Why does he not have a web site? It makes me wonder.
have you had your appointment yet would love your feedback on this doctor

29 April 2025 at 10:57 amHi Gerri,
Dr Slattery is a well known paediatrician around Perth with a long history as a “baby whisperer”.
He worked a lot with babies previously, tried to retire and then found that there were so many of his babies who needed a paediatrician for ADHD diagnosis and support. He’s now enjoying seeing a lot of his babies as children or teens.
He doesn’t have a website as he doesn’t need one to promote his services. He asked me to let people know he was available and he let GPs know and he has been flat stick ever since.
He was planning on returning to practice for just a few half days per week but has been in such demand he’s been working 3-4 full days and had a tsunami of refferals. He sadly had to close his books last year as he didn’t want families to be sitting on a waitlist that had got to more than six months.
I haven’t seen him with my kids so cannot speak personally but he called me when he was considering coming out of retirement and he was so lovely and concerned about the stress families were experiencing with the long waitlists.
I’ve just checked his AHPRA registration and he has no conditions on his practice, which is good news. His qualifications are:
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, The Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Australia, 1990
Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery, University of Western Australia, Australia, 1980
His specialty is listed as paediatrics and child health. He is solely focused on ADHD referrals currently.
I think if your daughter has an appointment for ADHD assessment with him she can be reassured that he’s a good egg.
Here are a couple of the comments I’ve received from parents:
“We used to call Dr Slattery “the baby whisperer” bless his heart. He is the best!” Emma
“He’s been so great to deal with. Has a truly fantastic bedside manner and so patient.” Katie
“He is absolutely amazing!!!” Emma
Of course, like with any practitioner you may not gel with an individual. And good on you for checking as it’s important to do so. I hope your daughter and her son have a good experience and if they do, I would love any feedback.
Warmest, Pia (Perth Kids Hub)
