Dr Bell is a Paediatrician specialising in the treatment of neonates, infants, children and adolescents. Dr Bell is particularly interested in endocrinology, nutrition, growth, and developmental concerns in children.
Clinical Practice:
Dr Bell took up the role of Head of the Department of Paediatrics at JHC in August 2021. Dr Bell consults at both Joondalup Private Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus.
Background & Training:
Dr Lana Bell obtained her undergraduate degree at the University of Western Australia (UWA), with honours and the Australian Medical Association prize for the year group in 1999. Following university, Dr Bell completed her internship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2000 before continuing her studies to complete her Diploma of Child Health in 2002.
Becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians in the area of Paediatrics upon completion of her training in 2009, Dr Bell also completed her Masters of Public Health at UWA in the area of Childhood Obesity in 2009.
Dr Bell practices in the area of General Paediatrics, seeing a wide variety of medical issues in children from birth to 16 years. She also treats children with developmental issues and delays, including autism and ADHD. Dr Bell is particularly interested in endocrinology, nutrition, growth, obesity, type 2 diabetes and polycystic ovarian disease in children.
As well as treating both public and private patients at Joondalup Health Campus, Dr Bell has been involved in research at PCH and JHC, including the Origins Project. Dr Bell is also involved in Quality and Safety improvement projects at JHC and is currently involved in improvement of discharge processes.
