About me

Great news! Dr Hancock, Paediatric Respiratory Physician, will be consulting from Kinkaya every Tuesday to help little ones breathe a bit easier.

Dr David Hancock is a paediatric respiratory physician who works at Perth Children’s Hospital and is now consulting at Kinkaya.

He will provide timely specialist assessment and management of childhood respiratory conditions, supporting urgent care needs and complementing ongoing GP care. There is currently no waitlist and Kinkaya is taking bookings now.

Dr Hancock takes a collaborative child- and family-centred approach to care and aims to empower children and families with the information to understand and manage their health challenges.

Dream job
When he was five, he wanted to be an astronaut, but today he loves that his job allows him to be silly, have fun, and tell jokes (as well as help kids feel better).

Favourite things
He grew up watching Captain Planet and The Simpsons. His favourite book is Room on the Broom, and he loves the first Harry Potter movie.

Creature comforts
He recently got a giant Maine Coon cat named Clompers... But if he could have any pet, it would obviously be a dragon he could fly on.

Karaoke star
If you hear someone singing "Africa" by Toto, it’s probably David (even if he admits he can’t quite hit the notes).

Qualifications

He completed his PhD at the University of Sydney, NSW in 2013 and MD from Flinders University, SA in 2016.

He is a Fellow of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a specialist respiratory medicine physician.
