Updated 18 March 2024: Dr Chaandini is only seeing NEW ADHD (12-18MONTH WAIT) & ASD Assessments (booking June) through us at Perth Paeds, the child does need to be seen through Vishal Maharaj at Perth Paediatrics / Azure Psychology first prior to seeing her, we are not accepting any other psychologist reports for ADHD diagnosis, but we are accepting other psychologist for ASD if they have already had this completed.
Dr Chaandini Subramaniam graduated with honours from Moscow Medical Academy, Russia in 2005 and worked as a junior doctor in Malaysia.
She moved to Australia in 2009, to be closer to her family. She obtained extensive training in neonatal medicine at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
She moved to Queensland and worked at The Gold Coast University Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital. She continued her Paediatric training across NSW and worked in hospitals across Victoria. She successfully obtained her FRACP Fellowship in Paediatrics and Child Health.
She has special interest in early infancy, especially colicky babies, sleep-settling and common postnatal issues. She also is keen in gut health, childhood asthma and childhood respiratory tract illnesses. She also has extensive experience in Developmental Paediatrics, especially diagnosing and managing children with possible ADHD, ASD, behavioural issues in young and older children, developmental delays in children and mealtime problems.
Other than English, she is fluent in Russian, Malay, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam and comes from a rich cultural background. She also trained as a dancer and vocalist as a child.
She now lives in Perth with her husband and 3 young girls, who are her driving force to continue pursuing excellence in health for children and their families. She is an avid athlete, runner, reader, traveller, and like everyone else, enjoys the beach, sunsets, the movies, and wine. She is a member with Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Boarders), and one day hopes to work with underprivileged communities.
