Building Buddies LEGO® Group Joondalup

Building Buddies is a fun and engaging socials skills group designed for children with a variety of needs, where creativity and collaboration come together through the power of LEGO®!

Whether constructing a zoo, spaceship, or castle, each session offers new opportunities for social growth and creative expression. Our Building Buddies group is ideal for children who benefit from guided peer interaction and enjoy hands-on, collaborative play, where they can connect and grow, brick by brick!

In groups of 2 to 6, children work as a team to bring imaginative creations to life, taking on rotating roles of Builder, Engineer, and Supplier. Through structured play, children practice working and communicating with one another, following directions, managing frustration, and celebrating group achievements.

The group is also adapted to allow room for creative building to recognising other forms of play (solitary, parallel) while still being a part of a group setting and facilitating meaningful social connection unique to the individual. The supportive environment is facilitated by experienced therapists who guide children through challenges and help them build confidence, friendships, and teamwork skills.
