WA kids deserve better
It wasn’t meant to be forever. But families STILL can’t get the help they need.
Four years ago, I made a simple PDF list to help families who couldn’t find anyone with availability to help their child.
I thought it would be a short term thing. Six months at most.
Surely the State Government would step in.
Surely a State as wealthy as ours, with record iron ore, oil and gas profits, would invest in our kids.
But here we are.
Four years later.
And things are worse, not better.
Every October, I quietly mark the anniversary of the first Perth Kids Hub directory.
I don’t celebrate it, because it shouldn’t still be needed.
But I am proud.
Proud that thousands of families have found amazing doctors, therapists and support through Perth Kids Hub.
It’s time for action.
For reforms that put children at the centre of our health, education and disability systems.
Our kids deserve better.
And so do the parents, teachers and professionals holding the system together.
Let’s keep pushing for a system where every child can get the help they need, when they need it.
